Maintaining a good ASU GPA
- Assured admission auto-admits you with any one of these. Top 25% of high school class, 3.0+ unweighted GPA, SAT 1120+, or ACT 22+. Meet a single one and the decision is automatic — no committee review needed.
- Barrett Honors has higher gates. Median admits run 3.78+ unweighted, SAT 1380, or ACT 31. Apply by November 1 for priority Barrett scholarships — the $20K+ awards run out before the regular January deadline.
- Academic renewal can erase old grades. If you've been away from college for 2+ years and have a low GPA from before, you can request to exclude those grades from your cumulative GPA on return. This is the single biggest GPA lift available at ASU.
- Scholarship GPA floors are higher than good standing. ASU defines good standing at 2.0, but most merit scholarships require 2.5-3.0 minimum. Check your specific award's Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirement — they're not all 2.0.
