Maintaining a good UTA GPA
- Nursing has its own GPA gate. Direct admit to UTA Nursing requires a 3.5+ unweighted, completion of pre-nursing prereqs (anatomy, microbiology), and a separate application by January 15.
- Honors College admits at 3.7+. The Goolsby Leadership Academy within UTA Honors is the prestige track. Goolsby admits 30-40 students per cohort, requires 3.7+ and an interview, and covers tuition.
- Maverick Promise covers full tuition for low-income Texans. Texas residents with family income under $65K and admitted to UTA get full tuition covered, conditional on maintaining 2.0+ GPA. Renewal floor is lower than most state promise programs.
